Working Postcards...

I'm working on these Felt-based postcards for a swap. This is my "proof" that they have been started... clearly I have a lot of work to do. :)

Baby is coming! Look busy!
For the past 10 days or so I have been working on the "room set" for my nieces' baby that's coming in February. These pics do not really show the colors right... but it's freezing outside, overcast, and I'm running behind on this, so this is all I have. :)

Quilt top:

"Firsts" box. I got this idea from the FAT group. The bottom liner says "My Firsts" and will hold things like her first hair cut, first lost tooth, first report card, etc.

OK, so I didn't finish anything...
But that doesn't mean I wasted my day!
I finally finished up buying all the fabric needed for the aforementioned baby room set that I'm supposed to be working on. I have the 16 coordinating fabrics now, and the matching and contrasting yardage for the rest... now I gotta get busy cutting strips. I cut about 200 squares already today - not much, I know, but now I remember why I don't like to do this. LOL

So to make up for the lack of a photo of some art, check out this kitten from across the street... her name is Agatha.

And when you can catch them both, this is her sister Chloe.

The best things about those kitties:
I am not responsible for their food.
They are still small and playful.
They come BOUNDING across the street to greet us when we leave the house. (Our fat cats just look at us when we come in or go out... you know THE LOOK)
When I am done being chewed, clawed, pounced, and rubbed on, I can put them down in the grass, and walk away... :)

100 things
In case you need something to do: 100 things by Keri Smith

Projects, resolutions, Holiday haze...
Instead of posting a bunch of resolutions that I didn't make, or talking about why I didn't bother, I just started off the year starting a few new projects, working on some old ones, and playing Guitar Hero while it's here... it is leaving tomorrow with my step-daughter who is returning to her home in Florida. :(

Then I got sidetracked... don't you HATE that?

This is what prompted me to to post: Girdle books

So, in the middle of finishing up a scarf I'm knitting, casting on my first pair of socks, playing WAY too much with the cute kittens from across the street, making postcards from felt, completing my homework for an upcoming class/retreat, making a baby room set - curtains, dust ruffle, bumpers, etc... working on a puzzle that has been in my living room for a week (THANKS NEVA!), opening an Etsy shop, and all the other usual craziness around here.. now I have to be thinking about how to make a girdle book and what I will hook it to since I don't wear belts unless I'm going to some Period event..

See why I didn't bother ? :)

I'll be glad to get back to "routine"... perhaps I can finish something tomorrow and post photos...
