Etsy! From me to you!
Pssst... my Etsy store is up:
Toe-up socks!
I am working on my first pair of socks - from the
Universal toe-up Sock Formula using
Cherry Tree Hill Supersock Merino Monet colorway.
Here is my beginning:

I didn't really understand what these "short rows" were doing at first, but I followed the pattern. It makes a really nice "seam" on the side!

The table with the blank canvas...
So I found this table on Craig's list for not a lot of money... took it home, cleaned it up and painted the edges - they were "white" but it was badly done white... this is a sparkley gray color that looks black in the house.

So it's not exactly cool yet - what should I add to it?
Pirates, again!
My friend Mary went on a field trip and brought back some Grog flavored Mints! LOL

But I think she stole them because as soon as I put them out on the table, these guys showed up to steal them...

Obsessed much?
I'm all for honoring great costumes by trying to duplicate details, but this is a bit much...

Flickr costs me money...but now I'm PRO!
I love Flickr. I spend wayyyyyyyyyy too much time on there. Today it cost me money... but I'll save that piece of info for later... but then, I remembered that I took a bunch of pics of things and needed to put it on my Flickr account, so I tried to make a new set and I was at my limit. So they got my $24. AHHHHH!!!

DPN Holder
Maybe it's just me, but my DPN's were ALL over the place.. and I was afraid I would lose them. I looked in some stores for small needle holders but all I ever found were the ones long enough to hold straight needles, and that's too long. The longest needles I have are knitpicks at 8" long. So I made a needle holder.
All rolled up, it's about 9" wide:

It rolls out to be about 18" wide with several pockets to hold DPN's.

There is a flap to keep the needles from sliding out when you carry it with you.

I started on the far left with some crochet hooks that I use for weaving ends and etc, then put in my sock set of 000's, and went by size to the right. There are some empty spots. (Guess I'll have to go to the YARN STORE! DARN!)
The last pocket on the right holds a needle sizer, some stitch markers and a set of #2 16" circulars for socks. It could hold a few more circulars, I just didn't see the need.
Arrrrr! Hats!
This is my first attempt at a hat for a Pirate costume. I was going for something along the lines of a Captain Barbosa hat (from Pirates of the Caribbean, of course!)It's not quite there, but I think it's a good start. The plumes are in the mail... I tested with a baby plume... and the lighting is bad. I need to get better lighting in my studio since I keep finishing projects at night!
